Collaboration for image guided therapy solutions

Sony and Siemens Healthineers announce a strategic global collaboration that combines the Artis angiography system of Siemens Healthineers with Sony’s Nucleus audio-visual management platform.

Through the strategic alliance, the Artis systems by Siemens Healthineers can offer clinicians seamless control over all audio-visual data by utilising Nucleus. The integrated solution will enable intelligent video routing, secure content capture, and dynamic telecollaboration within and beyond the interventional suite, the companies state.

The vendor-neutral Nucleus platform is designed to streamline the collection, management, and secure distribution of video content up to 4K resolution, including still images and patient data, across a hospitals’ network to anywhere in the world. It integrates with Hospital Information Systems to enable efficient worklist planning and easy access to patient digital records. Streaming content to remote participants transforms clinical education, as well as facilitating remote second opinion from colleagues in real-time.

Artis represents the Siemens Healthineers interventional angiography portfolio of imaging solutions to guide minimally invasive procedures across interventional radiology, cardiology, and surgery. These systems seamlessly integrate diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities in a single interventional suite, transforming clinical treatment pathways to enhance patient outcomes while alleviating cost pressure on healthcare systems worldwide.

By uniting their imaging and digital connectivity solutions, the companies aim to address the growing demand for interoperable, future-proof solutions in interventional radiology, cardiology and minimally invasive image-guided surgery. "We are thrilled to join with Siemens Healthineers on this groundbreaking collaboration that will elevate interventional imaging technology to unprecedented heights. By integrating Sony's cutting-edge innovations with Artis systems, we are not just improving visualization: we are fundamentally enhancing how surgical teams interact with critical diagnostic and therapeutic information in real-time. Our shared long-term commitment to innovation ultimately serves one purpose: delivering the highest standard of care to patients while making the interventional workflow more efficient and effective." said Ludger Philippsen, Head of Sony Healthcare Solutions Europe.

“With this collaboration, we empower healthcare providers to streamline procedural workflows, support clinical decision-making, and enhance education and training through advanced video management and collaboration tools. Through the combination of our Artis family with Nucleus, customers benefit from an enriched experience in the interventional room and beyond” said Carsten Bertram, Head of Advanced Therapies Siemens Healthineers.
