Brand transition: Healthineers to open new chapter in 2027
The transition to Healthineers is the next step in the company's evolution to a fully standalone healthcare company.
Siemens Healthineers announced it will change its name to Healthineers. For Siemens, this step further sharpens the focus on executing its strategy: scaling industrial AI by combining the real and the digital worlds.
“This is the logical next step in a journey we started years ago – and one that has proven hugely successful,” said Roland Busch, President and CEO Siemens AG. “Siemens Healthineers has grown from its Siemens roots into a global leader in its own right. It is only natural that this evolution is reflected clearly in how the company presents itself to the outside world. For Siemens, this sharpens our profile as the company that scales AI in the real world. Our unique ability to combine the real and digital worlds makes this possible, accelerating profitable growth.”
Bernd Montag, President and CEO Siemens Healthineers AG, said: “Siemens is where we have come from and remains an important and treasured part of our heritage. Healthineers is who we are – engineers and pioneers in healthcare. After the deconsolidation from Siemens, we will write the next chapters of our journey in the Healthineers name and will continue pioneering breakthroughs in healthcare for everyone. Everywhere. Sustainably.“
Siemens has announced plans to deconsolidate Siemens Healthineers in 2027 by way of a spin-off. The spin-off will be submitted for shareholder approval of both companies at their annual shareholders' meetings in February 2027. The company name change to Healthineers needs to be approved at the Siemens Healthineers annual shareholders' meeting.
The brand transition is expected to start following the entry of the spin-off into the German Commercial Register, which will complete the spin-off and deconsolidation from Siemens. A brand transition agreement has been agreed for a period of three years after deconsolidation to allow for a smooth transition, including the re-registration of legal entities and products.
