AI segmentation and robotic guidance showcased at CIRSE 2026

Precision IO Group will showcase new AI-powered features and an imaging-system integration for its Epione robotic ablation platform in Copenhagen

Precision IO Group, the parent company of NeuWave Medical and Quantum Surgical, will unveil new features for its Epione robotic platform at the 2026 annual congress of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) in Copenhagen, Denmark, September 5–9, on Booth D39. The updated platform will feature new AI capabilities and compatibility with one of the latest-generation angiography systems from GE HealthCare enabling greater mobility. 

Epione is an AI- and robotic-assisted percutaneous ablation platform that integrates every step of the procedure – planning, targeting, delivery, and confirmation. Epione is used to treat abdominal, chest, and musculoskeletal tumours and lesions1, and is also available for bone consolidation procedures.2

At CIRSE, Precision IO will introduce two new capabilities: Smart Seg AI is a software tool powered by deep-learning algorithms trained on thousands of CT scan images optimizing the segmentation of tumours in the liver. 

The second addition is the compatibility with the Allia Moveo3 Interact Touch panel, developed in collaboration with GE HealthCare, to offer physicians a seamless experience. Combining high-quality 3D imaging, treatment-planning capabilities, and robotic needle guidance, the integrated solution supports accurate target visualisation and precise needle placement for complex percutaneous procedures.

Precision IO will host hands-on sessions and demos at the GE HealthCare Booth D40 on Sunday, September 6, 11:45–12:30 and Monday, September 7, 11:45–12:30. 

In addition, Yann Le Meur, PhD, Director of Innovation & Technology at Quantum Surgical (Precision IO Group), will speak as part of the SPHAIRE Lecture series on Tuesday, September 8, 10:00–11:00 – SPHAIRE News on Stage. As part of session SPH 428 – Robotics and Human–Machine Interaction, Le Meur will present "Robotics in Interventional Oncology: The Value of Collaborative Controls." The talk will give the interventional radiology community a perspective on how robotics and human–machine collaboration are shaping the future of interventional oncology.

  2. In the United States, use of the Epione platform for musculoskeletal (MSK) applications, including bone, is investigational and has not been cleared by the FDA. MSK use is being studied in the pelvis and spine as part of an ongoing Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) clinical study (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT07325578).
