Bringing cutting-edge MRI technology to Malaga
United Imaging are pleased to announce that, as a direct result of their collaboration with APR Salud—a leading Spanish company in the sale and maintenance of diagnostic imaging equipment—HM Málaga Hospital will join the ranks of medical facilities leveraging the company's technology.
This comprehensive treatment center has made the decision to expand its diagnostic capabilities by installing the uMR 680 magnetic resonance imaging system.
Located in the heart of the city, HM Málaga Hospital forms part of the HM Hospitales private group, recognized as a premier reference healthcare facility in the Andalusia region. The hospital delivers exceptional patient care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and innovative practices, the hospital ensures the highest standards in medical services, making it a trusted choice for patients seeking quality care.
HM Málaga Hospital has as many as 28 highly specialized clinical units, each staffed by dedicated and experienced professionals who are passionate about patient well-being and driven to deliver the best care possible. The multidisciplinary medical team provides an extensive array of top-tier medical services, including Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Pediatrics, Traumatology, General and Digestive Surgery, Urology, and Plastic Surgery.
Aiming to improve patients’ access to advanced imaging modalities, HM Málaga Hospital has opted for the uMR 680 system, designed with engineering solutions that elevate magnetic resonance imaging, significantly broadening its clinical applications through advanced reconstruction algorithms. United Imaging points out that the system is powered by the AI-driven uAIFI Technology, to deliver '3.0T-like' image quality, ensuring that healthcare professionals have access to the clearest and most detailed images for accurate diagnoses. Moreover, its design optimizes workflow efficiency, empowering clinicians to streamline processes and enhance patient care.
The company highlights several of the features of the new system, including uAIFI EasySense, which offers contactless sensing of patients' respiratory motions by using dual-source phased-array millimeter-wave radar. Further, the QScan is a quiet scanning feature for whole-body exams that reduces scan noise by up to 97% compared to conventional scan techniques. The new system also utilizes Deep Learning to enhance image reconstruction, boosting image sharpness and SNR. The improved visualization of anatomical details enhances diagnostic confidence and precision. Due to its construction featuring a 70cm wide bore, the uMR 680 comfortably accommodates patients of all sizes, ensuring a more relaxed and enhanced diagnostic experience, the company concludes, extending their sincere thanks to APR Salud for their invaluable collaboration in this system installation.
