Mindray Unveils the Premium Ultrasound System Resona A20
Mindray, one of the world's leading developers and providers of advanced medical imaging devices and solutions, launched Resona A20, a premium ultrasound system, at EUROSON 2024 in Naples, Italy. With its innovative high-end technology, Resona A20 offers a new level of precise image quality which will reshape the future of medical diagnostics. The Resona A20 emphasizes the company’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of medical imaging. By combining cutting-edge technology with insights from leading medical professionals, Mindray created a system that not only enhances current diagnostic capabilities but also opens new avenues for clinical research and treatment.
Powered by Acoustic Intelligence Technology (AIT), Resona A20 represents a significant leap forward in ultrasound imaging capabilities: it uses further improved diagnostic imaging technology to enable innovative clinical research as it provides a new level of insights into tissue structure, blood flow perfusion, and biological characteristics.
The new AFM transducer technology and artificial intelligence
In ultrasound, seeing the subtle depends largely on the transducer. Resona A20 comes with AFM transducers, a new generation of transducer technology that covers a wide range of clinical applications and brings excellent imaging performance for whole body imaging. AFM transducer technology includes three major technologies: Acoustic Boost Technology, Free Band Technology and Matrix Thin Slice.
The Resona A20 brings the best image quality for the highest level of confidence
Vito Cantisani
If you look at the future of ultrasound, one of the keywords is Artificial intelligence (AI). Resona A20 provides a wide range of AI tools such as Smart Breast, Smart Thyroid and Automated Liver STE which facilitate the daily workflow and makes it more accurate and efficient.
“The Resona A20 brings the best image quality for the highest level of confidence”, states Prof. Vito Cantisani, Department of Radiological Sciences at University Sapienza in Rome, Italy, and President-elect of the EFSUMB, and continues that “we are entering a new era, the system opens new function prospects for the daily clinical activity and for educational research purposes.”
Pushing the boundaries of ultrasound technology
Super-Resolution Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound (SR CEUS) imaging reveals the intricate microcirculation details at the micron level. This will prove to be a gamechanger in detection and treatment of different oncology cases including, but not limited to for example liver tumors. This is where Resona A20 comes in, as Prof. Ernst Michael Jung, Head of the Ultrasound Center at University Hospital Regensburg, Germany, underlines: “Today, using the A20 technology with new super-resolution CEUS we can find liver tumors of less than five millimeters. If we detect tumors with less than 10 millimeters we can use this technology during treatment, e.g. for ablation therapies. This will probably change the way we look at surgery in the future!”
Early disease detection with confidence
Resona A20 also provides a multi-parametric liver solution for chronic liver disease assessments. Especially for steatosis, liver inflammation or fibrosis, Mindray has developed comprehensive, intuitive and reproducible tools for non-invasive quantitative analysis. One of them is Visco-elastography (STVi), an innovative tool for tissue viscosity assessments. Resona A20 STVi provides two quantitative parameters, the dispersion and viscosity coefficient, for more comprehensive studies of the property. This novel tool has been extended to liver and breast tumors which is opening a new era for these applications.
M Reference is a multi-parametric imaging and analysis tool, for chronic liver disease and breast tumor assessments. It provides up to 5 assessments of parameters including shear wave elastography, visco-elastography and attenuation imaging. “The A20 was developed for multi-parametric ultrasound. I think that this will change the approach to the patient, because in the past, with ultrasound, we could only tell if the structure was normal or not. Now we can understand if there is a disease behind the presence”, says Dr. Alfredo Goddi, SME - Diagnostica per Immagini Medical Center, Varese, Italy.
Satellite symposium and meet the expert
Following the unveiling of Resona A20 at EUROSON, Mindray had organized a lunchtime satellite symposium with leading international ultrasound experts. Attendees learnt how the company’s revolutionary ultrasound system offers advanced techniques and approaches such as SR CEUS and Multi-Parametric Ultrasound that can increase the potential for timely and successful diagnoses.
