European debut for new Canon modular CT system
Expandable CT platform allows incremental capability upgrades without full system replacement
Canon Medical Systems has announced the Aquilion One / Insight Edition 160, a new computed tomography (CT) system that was presented at Röntgenveckan 2025 in Stockholm, Sweden.
The system is designed for radiology and trauma departments that require flexible imaging solutions. It features a modular design that allows healthcare facilities to upgrade capabilities over time rather than requiring complete system replacement. “The Aquilion One / Insight Edition 160 brings premium-grade technology within reach for hospitals with evolving needs,” says Roy Verlaan, European Director CT/MR at Canon Medical Systems Europe. “By combining upgradeability, high resolution, and spectral capabilities in a future-ready platform, we empower clinicians to deliver top-tier care today, while staying ready for tomorrow.”
Key Features:
- Modular configuration with upgrade paths to 16 cm detector coverage
- Workflow flexibility through compatibility with routine radiology, spectral imaging, and emergency care workflows
- Faster rotation times and wide-area detector coverage
- Scalable platform designed to accommodate growing clinical demands
The system is positioned to serve imaging departments that need to balance current clinical requirements with future expansion possibilities, the company reports. The modular approach allows facilities to enhance their imaging capabilities incrementally.
