Equipped with an auxiliary water jet function, increased down angulation and the company's high-resolution megapixel CMOS sensor, the new 800 series routine gastroscope is designed to support endoscopists with high-definition, low noise imaging, and improved accessibility. Compatible with Fujifilm’s EP-8000 Eluxeo® video processor, this is the fifth in an entire series of new and upcoming products.

With special light observation modes such as Linked Color Imaging (LCI), Blue Light Imaging (BLI) and Amber-red Color Imaging (ACI), the new endoscopy solutions are designed to support the diagnosis and treatment of the upper gastrointestinal tract. The new endoscopes are engineered to improve manoeuvrability, supporting easier observation and approachability of difficult to reach lesions. By increasing the downward angulation to 120° (from 90° on previous models) while maintaining an upwards-angulation of 210°, the new EG-860R gastroscope is expected to improve access to previously inaccessible areas, the company states.

Designed to support upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, the gastroscope has been engineered to provide greater clarity in the observation of the oesophagus, stomach, and duodenum.

To improve operability during procedures, the new gastroscope series includes Fujifilm’s proprietary Adaptive Bending technology, providing an improved elasticity of the insertion tube. Additionally, these endoscopes incorporate the company's Advanced Force Transmission technology, which is based on gradual stiffness, a feature that was previously only found in colonoscopes. This is designed to easily transmit push-pull and rotation movements from the endoscopist's hand to the distal end of the endoscope, reducing the torque load when performing rotary operations.

As the manufacturer points out, the EG-860R gastroscope is carefully engineered to work in harmony with the endoscopist, responding accurately to the physician’s movements during procedures. The improved insertion section is engineered to improve responsiveness and control, with a balance of flexibility and resistance, easily transmitting the endoscopist’s movements to the gastroscope tip for seamless operability.
