Eight languages spread patient education
Lab Tests Online, an online encyclopaedia on laboratory testing and related conditions, is expanding to include eight languages.
For the latest language versions, the Czech Society of Clinical Biochemistry, CSKB, in cooperation with the national and European Diagnostics industry associations, CZEDMA and EDMA has developed a Czech website, whilst, in Greece, the Greek Society of Clinical Chemistry and Clinical Biochemistry (GSCC-CB) has launched Lab Tests Online-GR.
Lab Tests Online is an online source of information designed to help patients and care-givers better inform themselves about the tests they have been prescribed, the conditions usually related to the assays, and how the success of the treatment is evaluated.
All the national sites provide explicit information on clinical laboratory testing and adhere to the same non-commercial and peer-review policies. Lab Tests Online currently averages 1.2 million visitors monthly in the US alone and is a global standard for patient education. The original site is produced by The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) and is collaboratively developed by AACC and 18 other laboratory organisations. The site is funded through annual corporate sponsorship contributions. Over the last five years the website has also been adapted in Germany, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Poland, the United Kingdom and Australia.
