The mp6 micropump from Bartels which became available for use in medical devices yesterday

In many sectors they have become indispensable. Dosing lubricants, feeding fuel cells with methanol or mixing starch into the steam of flat irons are only a few of the many tasks they fulfill. As from yesterday, the 20th November, mp6 micropumps are available for use in medical applications.
Extremely small in size and low in weight, with high particle tolerance and temperature resistance, Bartels’ micropumps are well prepared to be used in the medical sector. The mp6 is capable of sustaining a pressure of 500 mbars for fluid and 100 mbar for gases. Controlled by electronics integrated into the pump housing, the micropump maintains a flow rate of 20 ml/min, has a lifetime of >500 hours and a power consumption of 100-150 mW. The micropump is stable in several media and can be sterilised. Prices start at 20€ per unit but for higher volumes the unit can be acquired for as little as 3€. Bartels’ aim is continue to reduce the price so the micropump can truly be considered as a medical disposable.
