Following the unveiling of two new models a year ago, this June NuStep, Inc. received a gold-level Medical Design Excellence Award, in the Rehabilitation and Assistive-Technology Products category, for its T5XR Recumbent Cross Trainer during the Medical Design and Manufacturing East (MD&M East) 2009 Conference in New York.

In August NuStep announced that its T4 Recumbent Cross Trainer had been chosen as the Therapy Times 2009 Most Valuable Product (MVP) in the physical therapy products category. The T5 and the T5XR are the result of a comprehensive collaborative effort that drew on the expertise of NuStep exercise physiologists, ergonomic specialists, and NuStep customers, the company points out.

‘The T5 is a mid-level model that offers nearly 40 new features and improvements including a low step-through design for easy access; a smoother stepping motion; a larger, ergonomically designed seat; and a colour display
console. The T5XR offers all the benefits of the T5 plus an extended range of features such as rotating hand grips, a reclining seat, a foot pedal flexion system, and a 600 lb (272 kg) weight capacity.’

Both models have increased adjustment of the seat and arms, workout programmes, improved hand grips, and numerous other features designed to offer total body exercise that is safe, effective, and comfortable for a wide range of users.
