20 new patents for advances in medical imaging

Medical imaging company Carestream Health has expanded its portfolio with 20 new patents in 2022 for global advances in artificial intelligence (AI), image quality, digital radiography (DR) detectors and mobile imaging.

Fifteen of the patents were awarded by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, while an additional five were received in Asian countries. “Innovation fuels Carestream’s mission to deliver cutting-edge technologies that inform healthcare providers and help enrich patient care,” said Dharmendu Damany, Chief Technology Officer at Carestream. “These patents are the result of our continuous investment in global research and development—led by a team of world-renowned physicists, engineers and scientists—to advance solutions that clearly work in every aspect of medical imaging, from image capture through diagnosis.”

Carestream’s broad product portfolio includes 2D and 3D digital medical imaging technology for general radiology as well as specialty areas such as fluoroscopic imaging and pediatrics, along with digital laser imagers that output medical images to film. These technologies help imaging facilities worldwide provide quality care to their patients, increase efficiencies and lower costs.
