Mobile Computing Trolley

Devlin Electronics present the latest addition to their Mobile Computing division. The PC-Cart is a brand new mobile computing trolley specifically designed for healthcare environments. The PC-Cart has been developed to allow the mobile deployment of small form factor PCs anywhere in the hospital environment. As with all Devlin mobile computer solutions this PC-Cart is designed to be; rugged, ergonomic and easily manoeuvrable, vital attributes in the demanding healthcare environment.

The real key to the PC-Cart is the uniquely designed battery system. A hi-tech charger system designed by Devlin is mounted to the front of the cart and gives a runtime of approximately 6 – 8 hours between charging. The intelligent battery system is also designed to protect itself from improper use which could lead to damage and downtime while the battery is repaired or replaced.

The rear of the PC-Cart houses the lockable PC cabinet which protects from theft or damage although provision is made so that users can access; power switches, CD/DVD drives and cable connections. As with other mobile computer carts from Devlin, the rear panel can be customised to include; printers, scanners, a lockable storage box or a document tray.

Infection control is always a major factor in the design of equipment for healthcare environments. Devlin have as far as possible kept surfaces on the PC-Cart smooth and easy to wipe down. Users are given a reminder not to neglect their own infection control procedures as the cart is equipped with a disinfectant gel dispenser. The PC-Cart can be optionally supplied with the Devlin “CleanKey” infection control keyboard and mouse.

Martin Baker, Devlin Electronics managing director commented “Never before has such great importance been placed on IT within the healthcare environment, it is being seen as a key to improving the efficiency and the quality of care for patients. The Devlin Mobile Computing range empowers clinicians at the point-of-care.”
