Premiere for optimised syringe design
Medical device manufacturer Medtron is expanding its portfolio with two new reusable syringe models:
The ELS 200 ml Syringe MU (314626-100) and the Day Safe Syringe 200 (312426-100). Both products will be officially presented to the public for the first time at the German Radiology Congress at the end of May in Wiesbaden.
With the start of in-house syringe production at its German manufacturing site, Medtron ensures consistently high quality for the syringes, which are now available on the CE market. The company states that establishing in-house production in Germany, Medtron is enhancing its existing product offering, as full manufacturing “Made in Germany” allows for precise quality control and improved product availability.
The single-use models ELS 200 Pro (316083-100) and ELS 200 Pro QFT (316084-100) are also in preparation and will be launched later this year. In addition, Medtron plans to register the new syringes for other international sales regions in the near future.

The manufacturer highlights the improvements of the new models, including optimized filling speed: Improved syringe geometry reduces turbulence and air entrapment, accelerating the filling process and reducing wait times. Additionally, enhanced surface materials minimize bubble formation and make syringe priming easier.
Designed to provide more secure and easier handling, a rotating Luer lock prevents over-tightening of tubing connections, and reduces the risk of clogging due to viscous contrast media. A new locking aid allows for convenient and secure syringe placement – a distinct “click” confirms correct positioning. Furthermore, the new design effectively prevents user errors that previously could cause blockages during contrast agent draw-up.
The new syringes are visually distinguishable from previous models by their transparent protective cap and the optimized Luer lock.
