Syriflow® MR successfully established in International Clinical Practice

Following its successful market launch in early 2026, MEDTRON’s Syriflow^® MR syringe pump has now become established in clinical practice. Specifically developed for the MRI environment, the system is already being used internationally by radiologists, anaesthesiologists and intensive care specialists. Syriflow^® MR is developed and manufactured at MEDTRON’s headquarters in Saarland, Germany – representing German-made medical technology for international clinical use.

A Particular Challenge in the MRI Environment

MRI examinations place high demands on medical equipment, particularly when patients require continuous drug administration or infusion therapy. Due to their magnetic components, conventional infusion systems often need to be positioned outside the MRI room or at a greater distance from the scanner. Long infusion lines and additional technical solutions can complicate clinical workflows.

Syriflow^® MR was specifically designed to meet these challenges. Thanks to its completely non-magnetic design, the syringe pump can be positioned directly at the MRI scanner and is suitable for use in magnetic fields of up to 3 Tesla.

This is particularly beneficial for critically ill patients who depend on continuous drug administration. Positioning the pump close to the patient allows for shorter infusion lines, simplifies clinical workflows and may also reduce the risk of unintended bolus delivery.

From Product Concept to International Clinical Practice

Since its market launch at the beginning of the year, Syriflow^® MR has been adopted in various countries and medical specialties. Its range of applications extends from sedation and anaesthesia to paediatrics and the care of critically ill patients during MRI examinations.

For medical staff, positioning the pump directly at the scanner offers a significant advantage: the syringe pump can be operated and controlled directly at the MRI scanner – without the need for additional protective measures such as complex shielding solutions. Its intuitive user interface, based on established infusion systems, also facilitates integration into existing clinical workflows.

Designed for Everyday Clinical Use – Developed and Manufactured in Saarland

In developing Syriflow^® MR, MEDTRON focused not only on the specific requirements of the MRI environment but also on the practical demands of everyday clinical practice. Compatibility with standard syringes eliminates dependence on manufacturer-specific consumables and can contribute to predictable operating costs.

Both development and manufacturing take place at MEDTRON’s facility in Saarland, Germany. Syriflow^® MR therefore represents medical technology “Made in Germany” that has successfully made its way from Germany into international clinical practice.

Syriflow® MR at MEDICA 2026

From 16 to 19 November 2026, Syriflow^® MR will be presented to an international professional audience at MEDICA in Düsseldorf. MEDTRON will showcase the syringe pump at the Saarland stand, providing insights into its functionality and wide range of applications in the MRI environment.

With Syriflow^® MR, MEDTRON offers a practical solution to a particular challenge in MRI imaging: ensuring the reliable continuation of infusion therapy while keeping clinical workflows as simple and efficient as possible.
