M-Series high-tech stretcher saves backs

The global company Stryker, among the world´s top 12 medical devices manufacturers, produces a huge range of orthopaedics products, including implants, powered surgical tools and operating theatre equipment, as well as products for other healthcare specialties, including general surgery and patient handling equipment

The latter are ergonomically designed – a system the firm calls BackSmart -- to help reduce the effort and risk involved in patient handling.
‘Benefits of the innovative M-Series are a high weight capacity of 318kg, the low height litter, the lift-assist backrest and glide-away side rails,’ the firm reports, adding that easier transportation is also sue to a fifth wheel, which also increases mobility and steering.
‘The BigWheel reduces start-up force by 50% and steering effort by 60%. The advanced Zoom stretcher eliminates manual pushing through Stryker Zoom motorised technology.’
