KIHE 2009

13-16 May
Kazakhstan

KIHE, Kazakhstan's leading healthcare exhibition has a strong international flavour. Last year, this event drew 6,000 visitors and 180 medical products manufacturers hailing from 21 countries, including Russia, Turkey, China, India, Egypt, France, Italy, and Poland. Special stands rented specifically to present a country's products included those of Germany and Pakistan.

KIHE is officially supported by the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan. ‘All healthcare system workers wait for KIHE,’ said Larisa Kuznetsova, Head of the Pharmaceutical Provision Office, Almaty City Healthcare Department, Kazakhstan. ‘This is due to the fact that many head physicians and heads of medical institutions not only have an opportunity to get familiarised with the latest technologies, equipment and innovations from other countries, but also to buy them for their hospitals and clinics. This is a great achievement, all the more so if you recall the first KIHE in 1994. At that time it was hard for our healthcare; we couldn’t ever imagine being able to use such diagnostic equipment or pharmaceuticals brought to Kazakhstan by foreign companies. Now the situation has changed completely.’
Over 16 years, KIHE has become established as the main meeting point for the medical and pharma industry, where key figures in Kazakhstan’s health system can see demonstrations of the latest products and technology on the market. Additionally, exhibitors can make a large number of contacts among their target groups, which include major medical equipment, pharmaceutical and dental buyers as well as local distributors.
