Based in Michigan, Skytron has been as a recognised healthcare supplier in the American market since 1972. ‘Our business strategy for the mid-term is to integrate a large part of the solutions Skytron provides for the American market. However, on the short term, Skytron Europe will focus on pendants, integration software and RFID-solutions, directly followed by operating theatre lights. Our sales strategy is providing these solutions through a well-selected distribution network,’ the company reports.

Surgical lighting

Skytron’s Aurora II surgical lighting has resulted from years of LED lighting R&D. ‘At the heart of Aurora II design is its high performance, Hybrid LED optical system,’ the firm explains. ‘Aurora II is equipped with dynamically focusable, high intensity LED optics that provide superior deep cavity illumination.’
The Centra LEDs produce an enhanced bright, cool and uniform column of light to the surgical field. ‘The Aurora II Hybrid LED combines advanced, fixed focus and focusable LED technologies into one, ultimate high performance surgical lighting system.’
