Studies have shown that this technology can be an early indicator of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) and/or death in severe trauma patients and microcirculatory alterations could be associated with a bad outcome in sepsis patients and it may be an appropriate measure to guide the early resuscitation of critically ill patients, especially in the hypodynamic state.
Next to the USA, France, Germany, Japan, the Middle East, Italy and the UK are the key markets for this new technology, which measures non-invasively and in real time in the microcirculation. The systems are already installed in operating theatres, emergency rooms, ICU’s and ambulances worldwide.
