Shimadzu achieves Frost & Sullivan award

Shimadzu, a worldwide leading manufacturer of diagnostic imaging equipment, achieved the ‘Global General Radiography Product Line Strategy Leadership Award 2017’.

The award is presented to the company that introduced products and services demonstrating the highest leadership in the global market for diagnostic X-ray imaging systems in the previous year and employed the best strategies for success. The Global General Radiography Product Line Strategy Leadership Award in 2017 is awarded by Frost & Sullivan, a company employing more than 1,800 consultants and industry analysts in offices located in over 40 countries around the world.

Recognized for its global strategies and product launch efforts

Shimadzu was recognized for its global strategies and product launch efforts for diagnostic X-ray imaging systems and technologies which the company has introduced, enhanced or equipped with new functions.

The systems determining the merit for this award were:

  • The RADspeed Pro EDGE general radiography system offering high-performance digital projection radiography. It provides useful and innovative image techniques like Tomosynthesis, Auto-Stitching and Dual Energy Subtraction, further enhancing the range of applications for radiology examinations [Product link]

  • The ‘best-in-class’ SONIALVISION G4 multi-functional universal R/F system. It unites the widest possible range of examinations with inter-departmental hospital capability. The system incorporates cutting-edge technologies such as SUREengine-Advance, an image processing technology that delivers high-quality fluoro and radiography images. SLOT Advance, an optimal technology for long-view images (e.g. full spine/legs) with a minimal X-ray dose contributes to the excellent performance of Sonialvision G4 as well as T-smart, the latest Tomosynthesis technology, which aids iterative reconstruction with metal artifact suppression [Product link].
