The UK is one of the world’s largest healthcare markets. International companies looking to introduce innovative medical technology (MedTech), have the opportunity to gain from ABHI’s expertise, deep UK market access knowledge and strong relationships with a wide network. The scheme is supported by several organisations, including the UK’s Department of International Trade.

ABHI Chairman Phil Kennedy said: “ABHI sees real potential in forging deeper, more sustainable trading relationships for the MedTech community, between key global regions and the UK. By making trading links easier and more accessible, not only do we make it simpler to do business, the exchange of ideas, and different ways of doing things, helps to improve the care and wellbeing of people in the UK and around the world.”

International Trade Minister Greg Hands added: “The UK is a global hub for life science development, and the ABHI is a key partner for The Department for International Trade’s Life Sciences Organisation in attracting international investment and promoting UK companies abroad. Our joint trade missions and UK presence at trade shows, from Texas to Dubai, are helping to boost exports and the new International Membership programme will further build global partnerships, bringing investment and jobs to Britain.”

Supporting organisations include: The Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs), The Department for International Trade, The Northern Health Science Alliance (NHSA), The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), The National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), MedCity and The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
